I just discovered I am a possibilist. Albert Hirschman invented the term “possibilism,” meant to draw attention to “the discovery of paths, however narrow, leading to an outcome that appears to be foreclosed on the basis of probabilistic reasoning alone.” That’s what leads me on the explorations I undertake on this blog, and this is why I pursue paths that may, just may, lead to a metamorphosis of this nasty ol’ civilization into something, er, more civilized.
